A psychological analysis on video games
Psychological issues
with video game addiction 🎲
For decades psychologists have been trying break down the ever fluctuating code of the trend that became gaming, why it became such a zeitgeist in our culture and what it really means to our teenagers. Although there's been many incidences where video games have connected people throughout the globe, there's also been a mainstream upsurge in people feeling isolated.
Managing your daily real life and an online one isn't always so easy, in fact, carrying too much all at once can bring turbulence. Video games act as an escapist reality to people's harsh and unfair lives, a thing that's almost as addicting as nicotine; which doesn't favour the user at all. Clinical symptoms include anxiety disorders, frequent cycles of mood swings and low self esteem according to the National U.S. centre of biotechnology.
Yet, despite this, video game addiction might just remain as lively as ever with the coming generations, because as said before, video games directly tie their knots with addictive drugs - they may not be the same sort of drug, but they both have their abstractly damaging psychological effects on people.
